Currie economics....

Mr. Currie would have have you believe that the middle class has been riped of and stolen from. Despite the economic figures that show that the middle class from 1996-2007 grew its expendable income. See post below.

No comes more evidence:

Consumer spending accounts for two-thirds of U.S. economy
by Annie Baxter, Minnesota Public Radio
October 30, 2008

St. Paul, Minn. — More than two-thirds of the nation's Gross Domestic Product derives from everyday stuff like dining out, buying a new shirt or visiting the dentist. About 14 percent stems from private investment, for instance companies purchasing new machinery or building new factories. And the rest comes from government spending on things like bridge building, schools, and defense.

WOW that is a whopping 80% for the private sector and a meager 20% for the government. Who drives the job market Mr. Currie?

NOT THE GOVERNMENT!

It is hard for him to understand!

How a thriving economy based in private sector control enriches everyone.

Treasury Releases Income Mobility Study

Washington DC--The Treasury Department today released a study on income mobility of U.S. taxpayers from 1996 through 2005.

The study showed that, just as in the previous 10-year period, a majority of American taxpayers move from one income group to another over time. The study also recognizes that the dynamism of the U.S. economy significantly contributes to income mobility.

The key findings of the study included:

Income mobility of individuals was considerable in the U.S. economy during the 1996 through 2005 period with roughly half of taxpayers who began in the bottom quintile moving up to a higher income group within 10 years.

About 55 percent of taxpayers moved to a different income quintile within 10 years.

Among those with the very highest incomes in 1996--the top 1/100 of one percent--only 25 percent remained in the group in 2005. Moreover, the median real income of these taxpayers declined over the study period.

The degree of mobility among income groups is unchanged from the prior decade (1987 through 1996).

Economic growth resulted in rising incomes for most taxpayers over the study period:
Median real incomes of all taxpayers increased by 24 percent after adjusting for inflation;
Real incomes of two-thirds of all taxpayers increased over this period; and
Median incomes of those initially in the lower income groups increased more than the median incomes of those initially in the high income groups.

A funny side note

Friday 2-5-2010: 4:50 pm
Just had a call from Dr. Rosen!

Wants to sit down with me to discuss his "first rate" project. So he can answer any questions that I may have.

He wanted to sit and let me know who he (Harvard Engineering Degree)was and what his company was all about. (I am a Loyola of Chicago man by the way)
He asured me he has had no connection or business dealings with Laidlaw.

Thanks but no thanks Doc! I will wait to you come before the town and have an open forum. Open that is open to all of my neighbors and friends, not quietly having meetings with public officials.

I may be from Chicago, but I am not obama!

CM Staff needs to take a course

in Economics 101.

Better yet, study the failed economics of spending by the government adopted by FDR. read New Deal Raw Deal by Burton Folsom Jr. and a real nice read: My Exploited Father-in Law Curtis Dall.

obama's plan: SPEND MORE TAX MORE BORROW MORE!

Democrats- the party of NO REALITY

Something to think about...

There is a burgeoning technology called Pyrolysis of Bio Waste.

I have done a small amount of research on. It clearly takes some positive steps towards eliminating the emissions that biomass plants have.

Pyrolysis is the chemical breakdown of bio waste by using heat in and O2 free chamber, to activate the chemical breakdown process. It is a non combustable system.

Some of the by products, biochar, have some interesting properties.

At this point, it could be a far better alternative to the current proposal.

Thank you

It is nice to hear from some one who understands why I have reservations and dislikes for this project. Clearly, my reservations are founded in the facts.

This is not a NIMBY thing or a political thing. These power plants are not clean and pose a real threat to many aspects of our lives.

And for the record, Henniker's situation regarding the Laidlaw proposal was much different.

In Henniker, the local zoning does not allow for an electrical utility production generation plant in its industrial zone.

Henniker's issue was of a Zoning nature. The Laidlaw proposal was heard on the merits of a zoning variance.

Clean energy?

OK here is your chance, produce the facts that this energy is clean.

I have provided facts and research below that biomass power plants are not clean.

So show me your information that it is green.

two studies worth noting....

In 2008 UNH and Clean Power Developement studies researched out the availability of biomass in NH.

UNH concluded that there is about 100MW worth of biomass in all of NH. CPD concluded that only 35 MW of biomass chips exist in the north country.

Now, considering the cost of fuel today, I doubt that Cousineau will be hauling from great distances. Where will this power plant get the necessary amount of wood chips to sustain its operation?

Keep in mind there are several different grades of wood chips as well. The higher grade pulp grade chips and biomass chips. Pulp grade can be as much as 25-50% higher than biomass grade. $30-$35/green ton for fuel is about the price for profit in this operation.

Alternative green energy is no price bargin either. In California, biomass electricity in many cases in 50% more expensive than traditional sources of electricity.

was wondering...

Do you feel the same way towards that pretty little lady from New York? She too resigned from the task that the people from that great state chose for her to do for them so she could advance her ego and celebrity from the Secretary of State office.

Or maybe you admire Hillary for not giving up the throne of first lady when her husband's affairs were finally exposed. Tough to surrender the White House to that dolt of a husband of hers, don't you think robert?

Does Mrs. Robert condone such hubris?

one possible answer...

considering the push back from Robert Frypp, it seems that the objections to this plan are hitting some nerves.

I can't wait to see the responses to your inquiry about the fine upstanding Mr. Rosen.

Start looking for some connections to Laidlaw. I will try to get you the list of the other holding companies. I believe Laidlaw in its Ellicottville law suit mentioned several Massachusetts companies that they were involved with.

It has been a long time since I read the suit so I will have to refresh my memory.

sorry but the shivers belong

to your good buddy I am sure Chris Mathews.

And as far as the messenger comment, you really do have a comprehension problem don't you.

You definitely won't be sitting at the cool kids table robert.

Actually I was quite stummped as to why your comment about Gov. Palin was worded they way it was. Your predjudices are showing, or is that just your agenda?

Bruce Trivellini's picture

liamd2 it is quite clear

what robert is all about.

Just look at his responses to my posts above.

He is on of those delusional democrats trolling to denounce any one who isn't olbermannesque. Next he will be calling you a ground up bag of meat with lip stick.

an honest slayer of the messenger!

JFK once said in a speech to Protestant ministers in Houston: "....the real issues in this campaign have been obscured — perhaps deliberately, in some quarters less responsible than this. So it is apparently necessary for me to state once again not what kind of church I believe in — for that should be important only to me — but what kind of America I believe in."

So Robert, it should not be what kind of political party you THINK I believe in. It should be about what kind of America I believe in.

To disregard facts just because of your predjudice against me or some incorrect perception of my agenda is quite small minded! To disregard facts about anything because you are bigoted towards those whom you don't agree with is absurd. And, to admit it is just laughable.

You embody the phrase kill the messenger because you don't like the message.

How inconsequential your logic has become.

However, one thing that seems to have escaped you is that I am not a Republican!

This project porposed by any one is a bad deal! Just ask the residents on Bailey Road in West Hopkinton.

Bruce Trivellini's picture

quite the ploy!

I have to say one thing though. Adding the crop thing is a great way to distract people from the same pollution and hazzards that still exist with this facility.

Remember, the fundamental hazzards are not lessened by the green houses.

Just another attempt to use the word GREEN in their petition.

They tried that in Henniker by calling it "green energy". They forgot to tell the public that green meant that they were burning the green part of the tree.

Green didn't quit mean enviromentally friendly.

Nice try though!

Very obamaesque!
